Husky Generator 030438 Manual

I have a Powermate 3750 generator with a 6 HP motor that was bought new in 2003 and never used. I put oil in it as spec'd by the manual and started it up with a small amount of gas, it ran fine and both engine and gen was working. I needed it last night because the power went off and started it up. It ran for about 2 mins MAX then started, seemed OK then I heard it rev up for about 10 secs and kill. When I went outside to see what the deal is I tried to start it and couldn't even pull the starter rope (the motor it's totally stuck). For what ever reason I'm guessing in the whole 10 mins I used it it's now seized up/broke? First any ideas what could cause it to be locked up? What should I check first? Is it more likely that he engine is the issue or could the elec. side be locked up? It was kept stored indoors with and covered up so it was never out in the weather.
